BBW Nightclub Links Added

I have added links to 3 BBW nightclubs in America to BBW Shrine’s Links page. The clubs are:
- Butterfly Lounge
- Club Bounce
- Club Catalina
You can find the links easily by sorting the NI table header on that page (see this Blog post for more information).
Offline Communities
These links have been added because they are part of the next batch of pages scheduled for release on June 13th. These pages belong to the Offline subsection (not online yet at the time of writing this) of the Communities section of Big Life, the third volume of BBW Shrine.
BBW Links Back Online & Additions

The BBW links page is back online, after I took it offline yesterday for maintenance. Some new things have been added. New links have been added as well.
BBW Links Online
After about 24 hours the BBW Links page is back online. A total of 100 links were sitting on my hard drive for the past two years. About half of those were either offline, or I didn’t think they were relevant enough.
Additions
There are some new groups where you can choose from. Click the column header twice to sort the results at the top of the table. (I want to have it work in a way you only need to click it once, but I have yet to figure out how.) For example: If you click the purple BL header twice (top of the table), you will see all links to blogs sorted from top to bottom.
Over 40 links in total have been added. There are many useful sites and articles, some of which I will refer to in BBW Shrine’s volumes (in progress).
Languages
The BBW links currently there are all English language sites. I do however have BBW links to sites in other languages. There’s quite a few of them actually. If English is not your native or preferred language, you might find some useful (local) sites in those tables. Those have not been added yet, but stay tuned.

Frequently Asked Questions Updated
The Frequently Asked Questions page has been updated with a new section about the links pages of BBW Shrine. The following questions have been added:
- Which links will be rejected?
- Why do you reject links to sites with strong adult content?
- Why do you reject links to sites which require registration to see any content?
Links Pages Updates
The Links page is currently under maintenance as some new features are being added. I have had to take it offline to resort the data. Many new links as well as link categories have been added and they will be available soon. I apologize for the downtime.
Links Page Improved

The BBW Links page has been improved today with some new features. Here they are:
- Sort column type using the top header cells;
- Search results narrowing down whilst typing;
- Control how many links are shown on screen at once;
- Pagination of links;
- Highlight link of mouse position.
Also a link was added right below the Links header to skip to the actual links, so you don’t have to scroll. This may be useful for people visiting the BBW Links page often.
These new features make it much easier to look for specific types of sites and/or information. For example, if you want an overview of all the Social Networks in BBW Shrine’s links database, sorting the ‘SN’ header cell will group all them for you. Likewise if you are looking for all BBW music videos, clicking on the ‘VI’ header cell will group all those. Etc.

Launch of BBW Shrine

It’s finally happened, BBW Shrine has gone live. This is actually a beta launch of the site. This post explains why I decided to launch the site in a work-in-progress state.
First I would like to thank a few people. Peggy Howell of NAAFA with her outstanding advice and dedication for the advancement of Fat Acceptance worldwide and reviewing the site’s content. Ginger Beecher and Brenda Wood for supporting me and reviewing the site’s content prior to launch. And finally I wish to also thank the many people close to me: family, friends and relatives in- and outside of the various BBW communities around the world. I simply couldn’t have pulled it off without your relentless support.
Some of you, those that have been following this site’s progress since the beginning, know I have mentioned a bunch of launch dates, which subsequently weren’t met. The biggest cause for this has been the addition of topics over time, many topics.
It has almost been two years since I registered BBW Shrine’s domain name. Since that time I have been writing, adding topics, designing graphics and a site theme and coding it.
I have also approached people for interviews. Especially the latter has proven to be very challenging. Yet the interviews are a major part of the site. Without them the site’s concept I have had in mind since the beginning, will simply not work.
Without turning this post into a rant, I will say that it has been tough to get into contact with prominent people in the global BBW community. When I approached people to do interviews one of the most often asked questions was: “Where can I view the site?”. But there was no site. On my hard drive, yes. But not online.
So one day I thought “Well, then I will just put what I have online and then approach these same people again.”. But then I concluded that without any ‘finished’ content there wouldn’t be much to look at either, nor would people grasp the idea behind the site. I assumed that no one would be able to figure out a bunch of stitched-together notes, scribbles and stories and their relationship to one another like I did. This experience has been a classic example of the chicken and the egg, for I had no idea where to start.
A few weeks ago I was at an impasse. Slowed down by work and daily duties I was sad I hadn’t worked on the site for several months. Now you have to know that from the beginning of planning this project, I have literally been haunted by dreams time and again nudging me to work on this site. This is not something I share easily, because it sounds a little odd to most people. But it’s true.
This project has often felt it would be the most important achievement in my life. I haven’t fully understood why that would be, but I believe dreams come to a person for a reason, especially if they are recurring dreams.
I finally planned some time to work on the site. I thought to myself that I just needed to get the purpose and scope of the site across to people. Get some basic content ready, create a minimal framework of the theme I have in mind, and then take it from there, adding new content regularly. That would also motivate and inspire me as people could actively review the material and comment on it if they like.
So what happened to the between 30 and 40 percent of the content I mentioned in the February update? That has now risen to about half in total of all the content. Some sections need some final words added, others need yet to be started. The nearly finished parts I will add first over the coming time. Once I have all of those done, I can work on the topics which I have not started on yet. That is the plan.
What is available at the time of writing this, is the first installment of the site. As time progresses, I will continue to add content. Mostly text at first. As the site content is added, I will also add graphics. The 3D BBW figures I had wanted to include at this time, still need more work. Eventually I will add them.
Everything currently available in the navigation menus is live. There are a handful of pages with partial content available, but most pages have finished content. Once you start browsing, you will notice all of the 30-something links in the navigation menus are active and have content.
Concluding this, I am happy to write that the purpose and scope of BBW Shrine is now finally available for people to see. Anyone reading the introduction on BBW Shrine’s Home page will know what the site is and will be about. And anyone reading the Preface will come across the outline of the volumes and their contents, providing yet more detail of the topics I will cover.
