Network Pages Added

I can’t believe it’s been exactly two months since I last posted to this blog! But I thought today was a good date to resume work on the site.
As you know the world’s economy has gone bonkers and people the world over are losing their jobs and can’t find new ones. For myself work has been slower as well; That is, until about two months ago. It’s been very busy as of late and that’s a good thing because we all need to make money.
Today I have added a new Links section and this concerns the links to Social Network sites such as Facebook, Myspace and Twitter. I have pages on those sites, plus a few more. I’m not sure how to call this page so I’ve just named it ‘Network Pages’ for now. I might change it later. Although I already have a page called ‘Social Networks’ and ‘BBW Shrine on Social Networks’ is a tad bit long.
I need to add some proper graphics like the logos of the various sites but that’s a concern for later.
I’m still pondering to add the other ones, or to delete them there altogether. Some sites have become kind of ‘raunchy’ and I don’t want BBW Shrine associated with that.

Interview Pages & Dropping IE Support

Some changes have been made to BBW Shrine’s navigation and theme.
Interview Pages
As more interviews are added to existing content, pages get longer and longer. Hence I have split up the pages with interviews on them.
While the URL (Internet address) structure is kept intact and thus there are no broken links, it does take an extra click to go to the interview you want to see.
Dropping Support for IE5, IE5.5 and IE6
Since about two months ago I added statistics logging to BBW Shrine, detailing things such as the type of browser people are using to browse the site, along with the browser’s version.
Looking at this data, only about 5% of BBW Shrine’s visitors are using Internet Explorer 6. Prior versions are not even used anymore.
Adding support for these browsers is very time-consuming, time I rather spend adding content to the site. For this reason I am dropping support for versions 5, 5.5 and 6 of this browser.
If you use Internet Explorer 6, please upgrade it, or try another browser such as Firefox, Chrome, Safari or Opera, all supported by BBW Shrine.
PLUSH the Nightclub Interview Added

I’m very excited to publish this new interview (the 4th interview thus far) with Jacob Palmer, who together with Katie Finn operates PLUSH the Nightclub in Las Vegas, Nevada in America.
PLUSH had its first party in July of last year and is now back for more. The interview compliments the BBW Nightclubs page as yet another impression of (what the atmosphere at) these places is like.
This interview is the 2nd of its kind for the BBW Nightclubs page and I am still looking to interview more clubs. If you know of a club owner and/or operator or are one yourself and want an interview, contact me.

New Chapter Online Communication

Have you ever been stalked by someone? Returning with a new profile after blocking them, bothering you again. Or perhaps you’ve been the victim of a (romance) scam, or an advance fee fraud?
As the year 2010 enters its second half on this 1st of July, a new chapter of Volume III – Big Life is added to BBW Shrine. Today I add the ‘Online Communication’ chapter.
‘Online Communication’ is perhaps the most important chapter in this volume. It’s not the most entertaining one, but it offers some useful tools to defend yourself online.
This new chapter currently has one page, ‘Cam Baiters’, in a series of pages in which simple methods are laid out to detect and prevent abuse of various types of online communication.
As with the ‘Communities’ chapter in Big Life which is already online, this chapter also has parent pages to separate the content. In total, three new pages have been added.

End of Month Summary June 2010

I thought it would be a cool idea to do a blog posts summary at the end of each month, showing only the added content to BBW Shrine; A quick glance of all the new stuff. Here’s the first one, of June 2010.

June started off great when I introduced the BBW Clothing Stores Locator. A necessary tool I think with some unique features making the search for plus-size and BBW clothing a lot easier.
Close to a week later I finished some necessary updates on the Frequently Asked Questions page and also added a new section with a bunch of Q & A’s (questions and answers).
The following day I added two new pages, the BBW Nightclubs page including an interview with Kathy Hernandez of Club Catalina, and the BBW Meetups and Meetup Groups page.
Just past the middle of the month I added a new links category called BBW Modeling as well as some new BBW Events links to the BBW Links page.
The next day I added the BBW Events page including an interview with Jean of the BBW Cruise.
A few days before the end of the month I added the BBW Parties and Bashes page including an interview with Petra Kruger, organizer of BBW parties in the Netherlands.
All remaining pages of the ‘Communities’ chapter of ‘Volume III – Big Life’ have been added in this month, making way for other chapters in this volume, as well as chapters in other volumes.
On a personal note; I’m happy I decided in May to launch the site in this work-in-progress state. Because even though it’s far and away from where I want it to be, it’s been a necessary motivator in my life.
